Pizza Checker in Vosíme's kitchens.

Vosíme is a Czech pizza delivery chain with more than 40 branches. At the branches that run Pizza Checker, a camera under the shelf photographs every pizza at the packing station, and our models check it against the order before the box is closed.

We built the whole system for them: the camera and its software, the models, and the admin where the team reviews every order.

How it runs

One tap at the packing station.

The check fits into the step the staff already take when a pizza is ready to go.

  1. 01

    Packed

    Staff tap Pack on the tablet once the pizza is in the box.

  2. 02

    Photographed

    The camera takes a 4K photo of the open box. If something covers the pizza or the photo is blurred, the tablet asks for a retake.

  3. 03

    Checked

    The models check doneness, toppings, sauces, and the pizza saver against the order.

  4. 04

    Recorded

    The tablet shows OK or what to fix, and the photo and every result are saved with the order.

The Vosíme team looks at orders by branch and day, opens any pizza, and sees why it passed or failed.

What we built

From the camera to the admin.

  • Camera

    Our own camera under the shelf at each packing station. One PoE+ cable brings power and data, and the focus is set from the browser.

  • Camera software

    A small Linux image we maintain ourselves. Every unit runs the same build and gets its updates over the air.

  • Models

    Computer vision models for doneness, toppings, sauces, the pizza saver, slicing, and photo quality, including blur.

  • Backend

    Python services take each photo, run the checks, and save the results with the order.

  • Admin

    Orders, pizzas, and branches in one web app, with filters, a zoom into every photo, the check results, and a branch map.

  • Operations

    Deployed to Kubernetes with Helm from GitHub Actions, and monitored with Prometheus and Grafana.
